Job Summary

The Wire Department is responsible for processing wire transfer transactions and timely resolution of any inquiries or investigations related to processing. Due to the high level of demand and visibility, attention to detail is essential in wire processing, as well as adherence to strict deadlines, regulations, and policy. To fulfill these demands, teamwork and excellent customer service are essential. Candidates must be able to multi-task, prioritize job functions, and adapt to change quickly.

 

This position’s primary responsibility is to process incoming and outgoing wires, respond to colleague email inquiries timely, maintain records and reports, ensure accurate processing, and help investigate disputes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

  • Receives, reviews and processes outgoing wire instructions from branches and departments daily by wire room cutoff.
  • Receives, reviews and processes Incoming wires by end of day.
  • Accurate and timely data entry for wire requests International or Foreign Currency.
  • Assist bank colleagues with questions related to wire transfers while maintaining a high level of customer service over email and phone.
  • Investigate, analyze, and handle routine and complex transactions and investigations thoroughly and timely
  • Adheres to security and operational control procedures for the wire transfer and related systems
  • Maintains a proficient knowledge of all applicable banking rules and regulations
  • Proficient in some ACH functions for cross training within the department
  • Assists in special projects and tasks for the department as directed.
  • Adhere to bank policies and procedures designed to comply with Federal regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and OFAC regulations.
  • Avoid all real or perceived conflicts of interest and always maintain client privacy and confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Work related experience consisting of wire or funds transfer support background in the financial services industry.
  • Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank policies and procedures, and the Bank's products and services.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Intermediate to high typing skills to meet production needs of the position.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, speak clearly to colleagues.
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
